Welcome to the Survey Research Institute (SRI) at Cornell University, formerly known as the Computer Assisted Survey Team. Since 1996, SRI has been providing survey research, data collection, and analysis services to a wide-range of academic, non-profit, governmental, and corporate clientele. With a state-of-the-art facility located in the heart of the Cornell campus, SRI possesses extensive capabilities for telephone, mail and web survey data collection. SRI has been well situated to conduct several major national and state studies on such subjects as the health and safety issues of New York City firefighters, major trends in the telecommunication industry, rising tuition at universities, how people cope with aging and careers, and topical issues such as support for civil liberties and the war in Iraq. For more information on these and other completed projects see our projects section.
SRI conducts the annual New York Empire State Poll (ESP). Begun in 2003, the ESP is the first concerted effort of its kind within the state to collect long-term, annual benchmark data on New York state residents' characteristics, demographics, experiences, attitudes on workplace issues, local and state economy, state government, media use, and political and social topics. For more information on this initiative and how researchers can participate please see the Empire State Poll section of this website.
